Product Description
Magnat MTT 990 50th Anniversary Edition Direct-Drive Turntable Grey
Magnat is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and on this occasion presents a special edition of the MTT 990 turntable. It differs from the "normal" MTT 990 not only in its appearance with its elegant gray gloss finish, but also with a new best pickup.
The MTT 990 has been an absolute favorite for three years now. No wonder, as it combines excellent technology such as direct drive and the selected scanning system into a perfect product that sets standards in this price range.
High-tech materials
This of course also happens with the Anniversary Edition. The full size platter is made of high density polymer. The physical properties of the POM material used are similar to vinyl and thus are in perfect harmony with the record. The supplied felt mat can therefore be used as an option. This lies in the proven direct drive motor with its flawless timing and high torque. In addition to speeds of 33 and 45 rpm, the motor also has 78 rpm for the rare shellac records.
The cabinet is made of high-density MDF and can be perfectly adjusted with the height-adjustable feet. Weighing in at 11kg, the MTT 990 demonstrates its excellent construction in the special edition as well. The acrylic dust cover can be fitted as an option – according to the user's taste.
High quality tonearm and system
The tone arm of the special edition is the proven 10-inch long J-shaped arm made of special aluminum alloy. The shape offers the optimal angle for the lowest distortion and the stainless steel bearings ensure optimal working conditions for the elliptical pickup. This one comes from Audio Technica and is a VM520EB, which, as a dual moving magnet system, also sounds absolute finesse.
To visually manifest all these tonal details and of course to properly celebrate our birthday, we gave the MTT 990 a gloss finish in “Anniversary Grey”. In addition, the Limited Edition receives the “50 Years” logo.
Plinth
The plinth is made of "Medium Density Fibre", a material with excellent damping. The total weight of the MMT 990 is 10 kg. The 50th anniversary edition is stamped in a glossy gray metallic lacquer that has been sanded and polished several times.
Cartridge
The Audio Technica VM 520 EB (Magnat 50ths anniversary edition) features a hardened aluminum cantilever, para toroid generator motor system, has a channel divider plate and is constructed in a low resonance polymer body. It adds excellent soundstage accuracy and perfect channel separation to your audio performance.
