Plettro ή sound absorption panel
The Plettro πάν panel is inspired by the well-known musical accessory used by guitarists (pens), but this geometric shape does not come exclusively from a design choice and the reference to the music world is just one of the suggestions. The idea of this new product really comes from this particular shape analysis and its possible acoustic performance, in addition to its remarkable aesthetic features and its suitability for integration into various architectural contexts.
The Triangolo-di-Reuleaux Plettro σχήμα shape is known by the technical name "Reuleaux Triangle" and consists of three curves based on the equilateral triangle, with all the perimeter points at the same distance from the center of the triangle. It is therefore an extremely interesting geometry from an acoustic point of view, because the surface of the panel can give an acoustic normal response to the sound wave incident, as it does in the circular form.
CONCEPT AND TECHNOLOGY
So far, the technical implementation of sound-absorbing elements for suspended ceilings, based on complex shapes, has been committed to marginal and expensive craft installations, because any serial production requires the development of modular industrial processes. During the preliminary design phase, we considered the possibility of adopting the production technique of thermoforming, the most widespread method in the world of furniture and interior decoration. At the same time, the need to develop a functional acoustic correction tool suitable for professional audio music environments has led us to evaluate alternatives for delivering sound-absorbing performance over a wider range of audio frequencies. Acoustic systems with suspended elements on the roof require extremely stable panels, which do not bend over time. For this reason, we decided to use a perimeter thermoplastic polymer frame made as a valid alternative to common wooden frames. The other components of Plettro. Are also made of refractory plastic polymers. The sound-absorbing core is made of medium-density polyester characterized by the grinding of a high-density surface that acts as a "vibrating membrane". The panel cover is made of Trevira fabric made of polyester fibers, completely transparent to sound waves. There is a wide variety of colors and the Trevira fabric has a range of fireproof, anti-UV, tear resistance and Oeko-Tex-Class 1 certifications. The panels are also available with a removable fabric cover, upon request.
INSTALLATION FRAMES
Plettro ™ is suitable especially for historic buildings with prestige, thanks to its shape (comparable to a triangle), and can be placed in the standard horizontal position, but also attached to complex vaulted ceilings (barrel, ridged, cross or pavilion). The modern and quirky design of these absorbents allows the Plettro. To be suitable even for truly architectural environments such as large open workspaces, showrooms, museums and showrooms. Plettro. Maintenance is very easy due to the composition of the plastic materials. This aspect is essential for acoustic installations in restaurants, pizzerias, bars and similar places where cleanliness is required. Plettro ™ is a professional tool for noise and resonance control also for the most complex installations in
