One of the 42 mm tweeter cones is located on each sloping side in the center of the powerful 17 cm subwoofers: Cinema Ultra RD 200-THX follows the ideal structure of classic bipolar speakers. The two THX®-defined tweeters are connected together in reverse polarity to produce a diffuse, highly three-dimensional soundscape. Because our cone operates over an extremely wide band, the Cinema Ultra RD 200-THX creates that desired diffuse sound field from 1500 hertz. Despite its small size and modest overall depth of just 16cm, the effect speaker is capable of impressive sound levels – an important factor in the best cinema sound. And optimal installation is also a breeze thanks to the large number of wall mounting options, including VESA brackets.
Even the THX experts themselves were surprised and had to praise us in the end: The Magnat Cinema Ultra LCR 100-THX front speaker is the first in the world to be awarded the strict THX Ultra2 license - although it was designed for both horizontally as well as for vertical operation. And because it is also one of the most compact front / center speakers ever certified, one of our most important goals has already been achieved: maximum tuning flexibility.
THX Ultra2 is the most demanding home theater ever from THX. This not only concerns the optimal dispersion characteristics of the front and effect speakers but also pure volume. For example, the Ultra2 claims 117 decibels in the bass range – equivalent to thunder at close range. The system's subwoofer, Cinema Ultra Sub 300-THX meets these requirements effortlessly. The system's front and rear speakers have also been developed to ensure level stability and extremely low distortion. An exciting action movie with impressive bass sounds absolutely realistic with the Cinema Ultra system. You'll be able to hear and even feel every detail – promise!
It took a tremendous technical effort to achieve this. For example, we have developed what is probably the largest tweeter cone in the world with a diameter of 42 mm. Only in this way could the strict guidelines on bandwidth and freedom from distortion be implemented. The Cinema Ultra 100-THX front speaker features one of these world-first tweeters, while the Cinema Ultra RD 200-THX bipolar speakers have two of them! However, the 17cm subwoofer with the aluminum-ceramic aperture (used on the front and effects speakers) and the high-performance 32cm subwoofer bass are also new developments, with low-deformation properties setting new standards. And you can hear it right away: The acoustic patterns are distorted, rich in detail and extremely transparent even at very high levels. This is why stereo music also sounds incredibly good with Cinema Ultra.
All Cinema Ultra constructions have elegant discreet surfaces - our "stealth look". In a home theater, speakers need to attract attention by producing the best sound, not by shiny surfaces. For this reason, we avoided reflective surfaces and also paid attention to the little things: even Magnat's metallic logos do not have a shiny aluminum finish but rather a subtle brushed titanium look.
PERFECT SPATIAL REPRODUCTION
The tremendous flexibility of Cinema Ultra even applies to playing Dolby Atmos recordings. Dolby Atmos is based on a large number of additional virtual channels and represents an important step towards the perfect 3D surround sound. For this playback process, we have developed, with the Cinema Ultra AEH 400-Atmos, a compact coaxial speaker that follows Dolby instructions in terms of dispersion characteristics. Four of these additional speakers convert our "simple" THX Ultra2 system into a Dolby Atmos configuration. And the sound is really breathtaking.
