INFRASTRUCTURE AND INSTALLATION SPECIFICATIONS
So, since we have chosen the sound system to be installed with which we will equip our space, there are two things: either the system (due to complexity) has been designed by specialized personnel, at which time it will undertake its installation, or on the other hand (in simpler cases) we chose our system ourselves, and we want to install it ourselves.
- In this second case we have to take into account some very basic parameters which are the following:
- Obtaining an installation permit from the person in charge of the construction of the project, if this is in progress.
- The planning of the installation based on the general work schedule.
- Take safety precautions before and during installation.
- The skills of the installer.
- Adequacy of the necessary tools for installation.
- The correct and adequate selection of installation accessories (such as cables, speaker stands, etc.).
- Predicting system scalability.
-
In more detail, and before we start any installation work, we must respect the fact that in the area under construction, a manager has been appointed who is accountable for all construction workshops. So if, even as owners of the space, we ignore the position of responsibility of the person in question, then our demands from him should be minimized or even eliminated. At the same time, we must respect the general schedule of the project, as in any case of its violation we will bring negative results in the flow of the project, with asynchronous and forced repetitions of work, for no reason.
- However, perhaps the most basic parameter during any installation of a system, is the one that concerns the safety of the installer and his upcoming work. In other words, the installer should be aware that this type of work is governed by safety rules that he must respect and follow in order to achieve the desired result without running any risk to himself or others involved in the work. He should therefore be properly dressed for the comfortable and safe performance of individual tasks, pay special attention to the handling of various technical means, such as ladders, sharp tools, etc. pay special attention to the individual components of the rest of the installation such as passing power cables, water pipes, etc. but also to have in mind elements concerning the structure of the construction, ie the materialswhich have been used and their peculiarities. In general, he should be aware that any construction site can be a point of provoking serious or even permanent injuries for the unskilled.
- And because of course not all of us have the ability to do such a job perfectly and successfully, we need to know the degree of ability we have. More specifically, many of us are familiar with all kinds of technical work, when others can not do more than the basics (such as changing a light bulb). It is therefore very important to evaluate our abilities and not to behave selfishly trying to avoid the return of any amount to the specialized installer, with disastrous consequences both for ourselves and our safety, as well as for the material to be installed. Finally we should be aware that improperly installed material in a common area is an immediate element of danger for those passing through it. If, for example, we insufficiently support a speaker on the roof, we always run the risk of detaching it from it, and injuring passers-by.
-
It is well known that "tools make the carpenter". A phrase which, despite the exaggeration it contains, does not cease to give us to understand that without the right tools, on the one hand we will be specially trained to complete our work, but on the other hand, we may never reach this desired completion. . So if we have the right technical equipment, then we can move on, otherwise we will have to rethink it.
-
-
An essential element of a successful installation is also the correct and adequate selection of its accessories. That is, before we start any work, we must make sure that we have secured all those necessary materials, such as cables, speaker stands, screws - plugs, etc. so that we can complete the installation without unnecessary interruptions but also without replacing the specified installation material with another similar one, which will not provide us with the desired result,
-
Last but not least is the correct prediction of the scalability of the system, as it should be considered that at some point it may be necessary to add an additional element to the equipment, if it becomes impossible, if we have not provided the necessary specifications. So we have to make various "repairs", which will create problems for us in the cohesion of the construction and the smooth operation of the space.
-
All of the above may seem like small details, but they are often the spearhead for creating problems with unpleasant or even catastrophic consequences for the material, the sound effect, and the final recipient, the person.
